Therapy seems like such a time waste

They all sound so fake trying to "empathize" with you. Like cut it out. I know you just do it for the money. And say some generic shit. But at the same time I know I really need it. Ugh.

Have you been to therapy. And tried to make it work? And done what was asked of you? And stuck with it?

CBT isn't as you describe at all; in fact, it's precisely its opposite mechanisms that make it the gold standard in therapy. If you tried therapy and didn't like it, find another therapist. There are millions benefitting from some type of mental health work each day who can't all be wrong.
