Tennis Australia believed him when he said he had already contracted covid (a convenient claim he was subsequently unable to prove), and assumed that would qualify him for entry.
It didn't. It wouldn’t qualify either you or me for entry, and it didn’t qualify Djokovic. We here in New Zealand wouldn’t even have let him out of the airport under any circumstances... he’d be held in detention at the airport and shipped out on the next available flight.
He’s not essential for Australia, and has no compassionate grounds for entry. He’s just an entertainer, a pro-covid nutter, and an arrogant one at that.
(the hysterical and dishonest performance from his family in Serbia certainly didn’t endear him to anyone)
