Do you think this outage affecting Microsoft may have been planned? The fact that it's not just an outrage, but a sudden global outage, just has me wondering 🤔.

No it was a software bug. It happens. Its very unfortunate, but I am a software tester myself and know full well that even a minor bug can have major consequences. Also Microsoft had nothing to do with it as it was an anti virus program by another company that contained the bug.
