Too much reliance on technology

I am at the cricket. Many people now use their phones to pay for lunch.
What happens when the system goes down?
You end up with a line of cricketeers wanting summat to eat during their very limited lunch break.

I do carry some cash just for such cases. The other day a cashier couldn't break a hundred that someone came in with. So after checking it myself, I exchanged it for five twenties.

I broke the hundred at a different place shorty afterwards.

Not many places can break even a hundred because most purchases are electronic. So I keep up with who does and does not.

@jshm2 Not here they do not book their lunch.
It is made on site by volunteers.
Lots of people are not carrying cash now. They are relying on technology to make their purchases.
I posted that the cricketers were lined up, not me. Being a miserly "Old Fart" I bring snacks with me.
I’m listening to the West Indies test…looking forward to March 31st when
my cricket season starts.
But yeah…the technology fails and it’s chaos…as I discovered in the pub one day last year.
