How would I take a kite to France?

I have enough wit to build one of the most advanced flying object in the whole universe that even Henry Ford have to fall at my feet and praise my mental dexterity: a kite. I have ran into one problem, I am a bit too heavy for this. Shoulde I stop my 6000 calories per day diet and find a way to lose my weight or just pay for an overpriced ticket to France?
