Life Guard Training
Good Morning. My name is Blodyn. I am in college and we have one more week of summer holiday. But on the last day of last term I qualified as a pool lifeguard and I have been to college every day over the summer holidays for lifeguard training. I get there at 8 when the pool opens and often spend all morning training.
This week a summer swimming school is in at 10 so we only are in the water until 9.30. I get out at at 9.15 because I am type 1 diabetic and I have to do blood tests and reattach my insulin pump to my body. I am an embarrassment! The amount of time it takes me to get changed!
I love being in the pool. It is part of Trinity College which teaches sports science. I am in the Art School which is not part of Trinity but is on the same campus and we are allowed to use the pool. A lot of the teachers use the pool and they are really fit. I mean in can swim length after length at speed. They are great fun and love to tease me a lot. They swim loads faster than me but I think they respect my dedication.
