Why is it so hard to eat a lot of protein without consuming a ton of calories?

I decided to go back to counting calories because I’m trying to keep track of my macros. I need to get in around 100 grams of protein because of deficiencies etc.

I need low calorie *high* protein vegetarian options, if any of you have suggestions 🥲

I’ve been mostly consuming eggs with cheese, high protein boosts (250 calories, 20 grams of protein), and Premier Protein bars (200 calories, 20 grams of protein).

I have a habit of being a picky eater 😔 but I need more than just a ton of eggs and protein drinks/bars. The way I make my eggs probably add a lot of calories because I like them fluffy and actually good, so I use butter and whole milk for when I scramble them.

@pdockal Nope. My issue stemmed from when I relapsed with anorexia back in 2020 and now I’m trying to do better. I have restrictive eating tendencies and that caused skin issues and hair loss that I’m trying to correct. You can be a healthy vegetarian, but not when you deal with anorexia.

Most vegetarians are usually lacking something
I could never be a vegetarian
My body actuality rejects many vegetables (allergies)

I think it depends on *how* you eat. All of my family members eat meat and they have their own nutrition related issues too. I think growing up in poverty and little education had a role to play. That’s why I think I deal with some of my issues too. @pdockal

We ALL have issues to deal with and some are caused by how the food is processed
I'll stick to my meat eating delights and add veggies from time to time
