Social Anxiety
Lately my social anxiety has been really bad. I’ve been finding myself not wanting to be seen in public or around people at all. I walk practically everywhere, and even something as simple as having someone walking behind me or coming toward me on the sidewalk can make me uncomfortable. Sometimes I’ll literally cross the street just to avoid being around someone.
Even at meetings, I find myself watching the clock and waiting for it to be over so I can leave and be by myself again. I’ve also noticed that I’ve been increasingly irritated by people and wanting to isolate myself more than usual.
I know this is probably my anxiety talking, but it’s frustrating when something as ordinary as walking down the street or being around a group of people can feel so overwhelming. I’m trying to remind myself that isolation probably isn’t the answer, even when it feels like the easiest option. Just taking things one day at a time and trying to push through it.
