I had the perfect opportunity to socialise today

Someone was leaving the court at the same time as me, and they stopped so that I could go through the door first. I opened the door, walked through and kept it open for them. But I didn't say hi 😭. They walked through.
Then there was ANOTHER door right after, this time they opened it, walked through AND KEPT IT OPEN FOR ME.
BUTTTTT I HAD TO CALL MY UBER FIRST SO I WAS JUST STANDING IN THE CORRIDOR BESIDE THE DOOR.
So they kept it open for a few seconds then turned to see, but I wasn't walking through, so they awkwardly shut it. I wanted to say "no it's okay I'm still here for a while" but my stu.pid mouth won't open. 😭 It's like I go mute with people.

NEITHER OF US SAID HI.

WHY IS EVERYTHING SO CRINGE.

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I am strange. Everyday I tell myself I want to be more vocal because I just can't get a word out of my mouth in most situations. So this is supposed to be practice for me.

Aw don’t worry, having awkward social interactions is just part of being human. It’s easier to laugh about it when it’s a stranger..

It’s okay, you don’t have to socialize with everyone. If it was a guy and he was interested, he could’ve said hi too. Don’t overthink it. The first step to feeling less awkward is to stop overthinking and overanalyzing your every action.
