I wish I did more things like that in my lifetime.

I grew up in a very small town. Population around 2,000 and only one intersection with official traffic lights that unfortunately never worked. When I was 26 I decided to get my diver’s license. Within the same week of receiving it I drive 10 hours from north California close to the Oregon border all the way to Los Angeles. A city with a population of millions. The very first job I got there was being a delivery driver for Amazon. There I was picking up a job I had no developed skills for in a culture I have zero experience in. I couldn’t have been less prepared. Yet I somehow survived all of that and what’s more, even became one of the best. Everyone I’ve talked to who knows my story is always shocked. They describe it as amazing and call me words like brave and strong.

I wish I did more things like that in my lifetime.

@nonsensiclesnail I probably do! But I like to reflect and think, what if I didn’t? How would I feel about that?

Your lifetime is now. Do them ;)

Just keep on doing things close to the limits of your capability. You are young, you can spend the next half a century doing amazing things.

You've been an amazon delivery guy and you aren't suicidal yet? I call that sucess.
Reject · 26-30, M
@Queendragonfly Lol! The work was abysmal. Easily the hardest external challenge I’ve ever faced, but it was that insane environment that bred a lot of camaraderie between us.

You have time to keep developing those important experiences for yourself
Reject · 26-30, M
@HannahSky I’m certainly trying! The only thing stopping me now is money, but that’s being worked on.
So, what exactly is the message of today's post?
Reject · 26-30, M
@Lyfis2live Hmm. I like to look at it like this. If I’m afraid of something? That’s exactly where I need to be. Fear is useful. It’s the best indicator you’ll ever have of an opportunity to grow as a person.
@Reject 🤨 🤔 🤐
