I’m having this persistent chest pain, a kind of deep dull pain in the center of my chest

I’m also experiencing a lot of heartburn when I lay down to sleep and the pain in my chest feels stronger.
I’m not sure if it’s muscle strain from my new job or something else.

"Heartburn" is a symptom of something called "acid reflux" - stomach contents coming back up into the oesophagus, and that can be controlled by over-the-counter remedies.

Otherwise you should see your doctor.
