and as much as the bullies are jerks the schools are equally bad for not handling it effectively, despite telling everybody they do.

My daughter complained of bullying, she was told to write a thousand words on what had happened. My ex(wife) complained to the school and was told, 'the teacher is new her approach was over zealous'. It didn't get any better than that :(
