@nevergiveup What about the fact that most bullying is verbal rather than physical though?

@HoeBag Bullying is bullying.... emotional distress is often worse than physical abuse. My advice is to give your child the knowledge that he/she can be mean to someone who is bullying them and should walk up to the person and pointedly ask them, "What's your problem with me? Get off my case or I'll bash you.:" Then with the warning given, physical retaliation is the next step at the next instance. Most bullies will back off because many of them are just following on a behavior that they have suffered themselves. Some have not even really stopped to think that what they are saying is emotional bullying.
