Bullying, what advice did your parents give?

Mine told me to ignore it. Yeah, cause they just get worser by using their fists and kicks.

If i were telling my 10 year old self, I'd give him a baseball bat and tell him to take a good clean swing.

With my older sister bullying me daily I was told that I was old enough to take up for myself. (It wasn’t recently started but they never did anything to stop it when I was growing up) I was 15 years old by then and the next time she ordered me to do something I told her no. She ordered me again and I told her to get up and get it herself. She punched me in the arm with her fist and the fight was on. Then as we were on the floor fighting we were told to stop and that we were going to kill each other. I got up and pointed to them and said “You told me to take up for myself and the first time I did you tell me to stop! I won’t stop the next time it happens and I only give her a small fraction of what she had coming to her if she ever hits me again.” After that my sister refused to look me in the eye, she would cower down when she was walking past me. I thought to myself she is like a dog that has to be whooped in order to be put in her place. She eventually left home & dropped out of school. I wasn’t sorry for that. She should have never been allowed to bully me or anyone else when we were growing up. Anyone who habitually bullies others needs to be put in their place. She would bully boyfriends (and she went through a lot of them one after another) and eventually married twice. Bullied her husbands until they left her and had a couple serious long-term relationships with good & decent men who also got fed up and eventually left.
