Bullying, what advice did your parents give?

Mine told me to ignore it. Yeah, cause they just get worser by using their fists and kicks.

If i were telling my 10 year old self, I'd give him a baseball bat and tell him to take a good clean swing.

My oldest son was in sixth grade when I got a call to go to the school because he had gotten in trouble. When I got there we went right into a meeting with the superintendent, principal and guidance counselor. They told me he had been in a fight . I asked my son what happened and he told me that two other kids were bullying a special ed kid. He jumped in to protect the special Ed kid and it turned into a fight. When I asked what happened to the two who were doing the bullying I was told they both said my son started it. I then asked if they had questioned the kid who was getting bullied. They said he wasn't capable of saying anything. I stood up, told my son to do the same and said that this was all done and if the administration had been doing their job, none of this would have happened. I told them I was proud that I had raised a son who protects the more vulnerable kids.

@Sevendays This scenario seems to be so common in schools. It escalates into fights because the staff turns their blind eyes to the behaviors that should have been called out long before.
