I Was Bullied

I'm currently being bullied in work. I had to take the day off today, because I know what I'm going to face if I go in.

At first, it started off as being ignored. I thought that this person (the bully), might have had something going on at home, as he was never like this with me before. Then, it was snide remarks.

After a few weeks, I told my boss. (I'm in a trainee ship, so the store boss isn't my actual boss if that makes sense). My boss told the store manageress and nothing was done about it, after the manageress said she would speak to both me and my bully. This was on a Friday.

I asked her on the following Tuesday, if she wanted to talk to me about what my boss told her. Her exact words: "No, you're alright."

After two more weeks, I told my trainee center again that the issue was not resolved. They said that they would have a word with my boss, who would then have another word with the manageress. Nothing happened.

On Tuesday this week, I had had enough. I came home in a temper, after enduring exclusion from conversations, and having sarcastic remarks made at me. I tried to phone the head office of the shop, but they had closed.

I phoned the National Bullying Helpline, and they advised me right away to write a formal letter of grievance. I did so, I wrote one copy for the head office, one for my boss, and one for myself to keep. I've already mailed a copy to the head office, but since my boss hasn't been in all week, I have to wait until next week.

I told my trainee center the following day what I was advised to do. They instantly tried to contact my boss, who was at another trainee center out of town, but couldn't get through to her. I went in on Thursday afternoon for class, and they said they managed to get a hold of her, and that my boss would pay the shop manageress a visit and tell her what's now going on.

I know the manageress won't do anything, as she has failed to resolve the matter the first time she was told. I was told by the helpline that she has breached the Duty of Care, meaning she could be found guilty in court of negligence. If nothing is done after the grievance letter, I'll be taking it to a lawyer.

Sorry this is long, but I needed to get it off my chest.

Yes, but it's going to be a bit hard. Sometimes, he doesn't even say anything all day, but exclude me and look at me like I'm filth.

how bout getting someone to hear whats being said
WishfulCreations · 22-25, F
@jake60: Oh, that's already been done. He's said snide comments about me to the manageress herself, and in front of the other colleagues.
