I saw a string yesterday? Very long, foot or more; no pic

Maybe the day before, in my living room. I didn’t get the chance to unravel it to know for sure, almost seemed like dental floss but on the side table; nearly 18 inches long? I’ve refused to floss for my entire life. Is that the string holding it all together? The timeline is increasingly less congruent.
