There is nothing like the haptic experience of taking pen (or pencil) to paper. While typing on the keyboard can simulate the experience, it's not the "real" thing. Yes, there is the danger of someone reading your journal of inner most thoughts, if not now then long after you are gone. There are precautions you can take though. And that sense of risk elevates the thrill from putting your thoughts down on paper. It's time-tested to deliver maximum psychological benefits. Keep writing.

@MarkPaul yes! I have some journals in storage idk what to do with! Should I destroy them??? Idk! I have written single day journals ans shredded them or destroyed them…. But then I feel like I didn’t actually get it out of my system. lol I agree there’s something about writing.

This site is great for journaling. It used to have a journal or story category. For some reason it's just posting now.
