Reasonable Requests (probably, too short of a title)
How people respond to reasonable requests can reveal a lot about their character.
If they fly off the handle, start accusing you of unrelated grievances, and get hostile towards you it's because they feel the need to dominate and be in control.
They are threatened by any boundaries you try to establish.
You cannot reason with such people as they are not reasonable.
You will not get them to be empathetic towards you by explaining your side of the story nor gain any cooperation from them in order to make things better and less toxic.
It's a complete waste of effort and a great source of frustration.
To expect empathy is unrealistic,as they have none to give.
