To get in shape for women it takes longer. A LOT longer. (Smaller muscle fibres than men and smaller mass of muscle to start with)
You could be looking at 6 months or more before you start to see the muscle youve grown under the fat layer. A year before you start seeing the body you want.
But stick at it. Its frustrating i know, but change takes time, a lot if time. And a lot of consistency.
You arent just developing muscle, you are also developing good habits, good routines and a healthier lifestyle. Which will help you KEEP the body you are working towards.
If you have never had good muscle mass before, you are starting from scratch, and for women that's REALLY hard work, and it gets harder the older you become.
You can help your muscle mass with focusing on raising protein input and reducing starches and carbs l(ike bread, pasta, rice and grains). Have small amounts of protein at each meal with veggies. Cut out ALL sugar and processed foods, they only cause inflammation anyway.
Glutamate and creatine supplements will help your endurance and recovery in your workouts.
Stop long cardio like cycling or exercise classes, change it to short burst cardio like three minuites at max effort, then rest, then another burst (it stops cortisol getting too high which causes fat retention).
Research weight loss and muscle gain for women - its different to men. Maybe even look at what is coming out for menopausal women as you are also suffering from a hormonal disruption.
Last of all, give yourself a year. Muscle is hard to build, but its like a bike going down a hill - it builds speed. The more you build, the more you build next work out. Eventually that muscle builds enough that it really starts burning calories and finally enough fat burns away that you start to see all your work. After that, it just gets faster and faster.
But you are going to have to slog it out for a long time before that, its just the way it is for women.
It sux

@IAmNothing what is your workout schedule per week, like howmany days a week and how long have you been doing it?
IAmNothing · 31-35, F
@NOS4R2 5 to 6 times a week for an hour to 1.5 hours. Mix of cardio and weights. Been doing this since February

@IAmNothing Ah.
Thats too much for someone in your condition.
You are probably causing more inflamamtion and damage than anything else.
Rest is also a massive part of health.

You need to research more. All you are doing is stressing your body, tearing your muscles, weaking your system keeping it in constant repair mode. You might even be working against your body with that sort of intense schedule. You need, at minimum, a day between workouts for recovery.
