That's quite easy to tackle. It happens because we assume responsibility for our act. Instead make it act of God or fate or destiny. Like when they are mad at you, just look behind as if looking for someone and ask are you shouting at me?
And then act as if you are buffering and make them repeat what they said.. if they scream say it's above your ears decibel level and ask them to speak softly.
I have also made myself as my alter ego third person. Practice like "I tried to explain to myself, but my self doesn't listen, what can I do ? .. myself is just like you.. Even I have told you so many times but you never listen..."
And once in an argument I told my parents " remember that you are in my dad's property" .. both had no answer. 😀😀
