God meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be.

God knows whether we are genuine or not. He already knows us better than we know ourselves. However, God doesn't expect us to be perfect, before we can approach him or before he approaches us. Your spiritual house doesn't have to be perfectly in order for God to enter. He wants a genuine relationship with us, and wants us to come to him as we are.

God sees us as we are, loves us as we are, and accepts us as we are. But by His grace, He does not leave us where we are.

God desires for us to come as we are and to reach out to him for help, rather than trying to take life on alone.

In the Bible, Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”.

God is with us in our fears and unique needs. He doesn't force us all into a mold of how we must encounter him. Instead, he's there with us in our unique needs and in our fears and misgivings. He is with us right where we are, as we are. We need only to let go of fear, and trust. He's not looking for our mistakes.

Whether you are full of faith and confidence in God and your relationship with Him, or wondering if He even sees you or knows your name, God will meet you where you are. He met the Samaritan woman at the well in Samaria. He met the tax collector Zacchaeus, going through Jericho. He met the woman with the issue of blood, on the way to Jairus's house.

Psalm 139:1-2 highlights this truth: “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.”

God sees your heart and your hopes. He knows when even one tear falls from your eye. He knows exactly how many hairs are on your head. and when one falls. - Matthew 10:29-31.

Jeremiah 29:12 - "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, and will bring you back from captivity."

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

God is not hard to find. He's already standing at your hearts door. Seek him and you will be able to hear Him knocking...because you're looking and listening. He's just a prayer away, and waiting to hear from you.

At the same time, our thoughts, our desires, the essence of who we are inside, is not God. God is with us where we are, but we should never confuse anything about ourselves … with God. At best, we are images (shadows) of God. We can’t go anywhere that God is not with us; but God is God, and we are not.

God says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in….” (Rev. 3:20)

Like the Shepherd leaving the flock to seek out the one sheep that is lost, God seeks us intimately and personally. God is love, and love seeks the good of others.

Because God is love, however, He will not force Himself upon us. He won’t coerce or force us to seek Him, or to want Him, or to respond to His knocking at our heart's door. He is ready, willing and able, though, to respond when we open the door – if we are willing to let Him in.

However, God doesn't expect us to be perfect, before we can approach him or before he approaches us.

Isn't this great news? If this wasn't the case, then even Christians couldn't approach him!

Your spiritual house doesn't have to be perfectly in order for God to enter.

So true, I can testify to this!

God sees us as we are, loves us as we are, and accepts us as we are. But by His grace, He does not leave us where we are.

Amazingly put, sister!

He met the Samaritan woman at the well in Samaria. He met the tax collector Zacchaeus, going through Jericho.

This is a key point us Christians have to remember in our attitude!

Thank you brother. I love that God meets us where we are no matter who we are or how many times we have messed up. It's a good thing because I would be in big trouble if he didn't. I thank God that his love is unconditional.
@LadyGrace I love how gracious God is!

I have backslid so many times but God has had patience with me and I am where I am today, solely by his grace.
