The good of needing help

Sometimes I get to witness that my cynical outlook isn’t the truth.

I stressed before that my mom’s roommate resented me, and was intentionally causing all these messes right after I cleaned. Fortunately or unfortunately, it’s not intentional. 🤭 I suppose he’s just messy and doesn’t think about it. But I no longer think he resents me. I’m having car troubles right now, and tried to replace the battery, hoping that would solve the issue (battery acid had bubbled up all over the place and crusted on the connections. 😬). He dropped what he was doing to help. You wouldn’t do that for someone you have a problem with, at least not without complaining. This, along with the mindset switch that was suggested on my previous story, will help me go about my work with a less heavy heart.

Changing the battery didn’t solve the problem, though. I asked around for advice, and people offered to help me get around town if I needed it. Sometimes it seems like everyone is just out for themselves, and I can’t rely on anyone to help me how I actually need some help. That had been weighing heavily on my heart lately; how many times I’ve needed help and was met with bitterness and begrudging efforts. I’ve been treated like my needing any help was a huge burden on people who’d offered it in the first place. But I’m seeing a bit of kindness today, and that heals. I needed that.

Probably a dumb question, but did you clean all the corrosion off? Years ago I kept having a batter do that, and I’d just use a brush to remove all that corrosion and it would be fine! Until next time lol
@cherryxblossom That’s exactly what was wrong. 😂 AAA came by, whisked a better brush over it a couple times; and it started. Then he informed me that I could have saved $50 if I’d bought the battery from them. 🥲
