Why relationships are so fleeting these days?

Is it just me or does anyone else feel the same? I feel like as I get older, relationships are getting so shallow, thin and fleeting? Why is it so hard to someone commit to another? I've been working hard on myself to not let intrusive thoughts lead me into thinking: it's my fault! When I clearly do whatever I can to keep the ones I love close to me. But people seem to not appreaciate it anymore.

It is not your fault. Sometimes we tend to blame ourselves when things do not go right. We fail to realize it is not always within our control.

Some would blame the internet for people's lack of interest in friendships or relationships but is the web the cause or the result?

I feel like the best any one of us can do is look out for ourselves and our own interests and try not to take on any unnecessary responsibility. Which leads to -
