Too old? The only time I have ever heard anything close to that is for seniors mostly due to anticholinergic actions or QT prolongation. Have you tried CBD? I find it helps with anxiety and being emotionally overwhelmed. There are also adjuncts to antidepressants but if they wont even give you an antidepressant they probably wont give you anything else. There is also transcranial magnetic stimulation and related technologies. So there is still a lot of stuff to try.

@canusernamebemyusername I do everything cannabis related. CBD, THC, CBG, CBN. Edibles. Smoking. Yea I’ve done it. I’m not familiar with the magnetic stimulation you’re talking about but it sounds interesting. I’ll look into it
@SW-User Dont give up there is always an option out there.

@canusernamebemyusername I know. That’s why I decided to try microdosing again even though it doesn’t seem to help much. Thanks for the suggestions I appreciate it

I found my diet was making me anxious, I sleep and feel better after cutting right down on gluten and carbs but that’s me.

@SW-User yes if i eat gluten i wake at silly o’clock worrying and since i cut down on carbs and sugar I don’t get so emotional, it’s a shame it took me 60 years to find out !
SW-User
@Barny52 congrats on your success with diet changes 👏 I feel the same way when I stick to it

At one point my spouse was seriously considering ECT but decided against it because of other issues she has going on. The people talking it up said that they got relief by using it.

@SW-User Electro Convulsive Treatment, what used to be called shock treatment. Now done with much lower doses of electricity.

@ineedadrink hmm 🤔

@SW-User The patients who support it says they have no regrets about doing it.

I’ve done a lot of this with no relief. Found a therapist I’ve been working with for a little over two years. Realized I have some trauma I wasn’t dealing with. Finally sleeping more than 3 hours at night. Don’t give up. Not sure if another therapist is an option but there are great ones out there.
SW-User
@Jinxie thank you for commenting about your experience I really appreciate it. I hope you’re able to keep making progress with your current therapist. I did try another therapist but they just wanted to give me the same old suggestions of exercise and meditation 🙄 like I haven’t tried that before.
My doctors just keep prescribing antidepressants while at the same time telling me my liver is so full of fat it's moving into my pancreas. I was at the Doctor yesterday after an ultrasound. She said, I'm not worried.
Is that because your liver is not getting destroyed??

Really too old for antidepressants? First time I hear something like that.
And yeah, I wished certain aspects of my life were just fixed but it's a constant struggle

@SW-User the doctor I saw though my problems could be fixed with therapy and didn’t feel antidepressants would help.
I feel ya on the constant struggle

Yup. I've had chronic, constant leg cramps for 12 years. No amount of dieting, exercise, medication, or anything else has done anything to get them to even let up a little.
To say I'm over it is an understatement.

Have you gotten your thyroid function checked ? An imbalance would make you feel that way.
SW-User
@Underconstruction yes I just had everything checked my thyroid it fine

Yes, I do not believe the reason why so many people seem to be broken is really being addressed. Not really, if our world was equal opportunity or more set up for the benefit of all instead of the benefit of a few there wouldn't be done many broken, loving in poverty, struggling to keep Their heads afloat. Working to work more. I'm not saying communism is the answer but this sure isn't either.

@Bang5luts I understand where you’re coming from. Thanks for commenting

I don’t think the cracks will ever be repaired. Childhood trauma, chronic pain, so many things.
I hope you can find things that help 💖
