Being hot isn’t the point. I know you’re not a guy but i dated a guy I wasn’t attracted to at all at first. He was not hot. He (to me) was kind of ugly. Opposite of what I imagined for myself:

Then when I got to know him I didn’t see his face anymore. I saw his kindness and gentle ways. I saw he was a good father (not my kids) and had considerable integrity. He was funny and had a lot of friends who loved him. He could be vulnerable and not be defensive. He was good at resolving conflict and he was loving to everyone. We had some of the best sex too. He’s not hot and never will be. But he is burned in my heart to this day even after I’ve long since moved on.

You know as someone who’s below average in looks I’d advise you to work on other qualities. You know I may not have the best looks but I do know how to make people laugh. Maybe for you it’s your work or your inner artist. It’s okay if you can’t be everything. Some animals are big and ferocious, some can fly, some can swim, some area really beautiful, others can jump high. Well the same is for humans. Some of us are funny, some of us are highly intelligent, some of us are creative, some of us are very kind, etc.

You gotta figure out what makes you shine in your own unique way.

I’m not traditionally attractive. What I learned is to play into your strengths. If you wear glasses, find the frames that suite your face shape best. It’s best to get a haircut that compliments the face shape as well. Also, knowing your body type helps. I’m a soft gamine, so certain cuts will look better and other wills look like crap. Proper fitting clothes and colors can do you a world of favors.

generally, hot people don't have to be born that way. you can hit the gym as hard as you please and change your diet. even geta procedure done. put on makeup. buy new clothing. because really nobody else is that special. think of yourself as a fixer upper of clunker car. or focus on less shallow things and less on pandering to shallow society.
