Mentally, it can be overcome...

Physical pain, not so much; and chronic physical pain usually causes mental pain as well...

@wildbill83 There is wisdom in your thinking. It's like a catch 22 at times.😔

@MoonlightLullaby I suffer from chronic nerve pain/damage; untreatable, and impossible to "acclimate" to; I wouldn't wish this kind of pain on anyone, even those who think they could live with it...

@wildbill83 It's a constant in my life as well; different intensities dependant upon the location, and it's in every part of my body. Some days are completely unbearable, especially along with chronic spasms and musculoskeletal pain, I can't help but cry. I'm sorry to know you relate

@MoonlightLullaby exactly, that's the hardest thing to try and explain to people. Unlike skeletal, muscle, etc. pain, you can't just "push past it", when your nerves stop working correctly, you're powerless. And the pain migrates, once you think you've gotten used to pain in a certain location, you wake up the next day and it's somewhere else...

It's like fibro (which I've also been diagnosed with), just because someone can't see the effects, they assume it doesn't exist...

@wildbill83 That's what it would look like, straight down to the color effect. Some days it's like a vice grip of frozen ice, and others are like a burning wildfire. You're not even allowed the luxury of sleep at times. The average person just can't wrap their head around the agony, even the mental torture it creates.
