Hate is a strong word for a name.
Are you sure your name isn’t Karen?

Okay cool story
PhaqueYou · M
I am unsure.
But I'll say this, I really hate what people have done to the name Karen.
I mean I feel bad for girls, women w/the name... seeing how they're being bullied and mocked, maybe abused due to this debauchery.
Sad.
Scary sad.

There are a few names that have bad associations for me. "Susan" always makes me think of this girl in high school who had horrible acne. It was beyond description.
"Fred" always reminds me of the drunken a-hole who attended high school with me, and whom I knew when I was in college, who abandoned me in Boston at 2 a.m. because he refused to let me drive and he was so stinking drunk. Thanks to Fred, I had to walk the length of Longwood Avenue to try get to a gas station phone. (I didn't have a cell phone). And thanks to him, I got to see ALL the parts of a flasher who jumped out at me from a bus kiosk along my walk.

The names I usually dislike are the extremely old fashion ones... that remind me of very old history.
Or when too many people have the same exact name, I'm pretty sure I had one class where 7 boys had the same first name... that was annoying for everyone.

My wife's name is Rebecca, so that is a name I will always look on favorably. I've seen names where the parents try to get creative with spellings, or come up with something original. Usually, it ends up just being a curse for the kid.
PhaqueYou · M
... you couldn't guess mine either. 🤪
Kinda rare.
But, back at it....

This is not related but I don't particularly like names that are attached to a cultural family name. For example, an english first name attached to, lets say, a French, Spanish, Italian last name .. etc... I don't know, it just ruins their cultural identity.
