I Have a Question

How do u cope with depression?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Change whatever I'm doing, get outside and get more sunlight really helps as does working in buildings with skylights (especially in the winter I've found out)...and being around nature (greenery even the backyard or walking in parks) is refreshing for me.

Exercise, yoga, meditation, and most of all, I've learned to not listen to myself too much and let the bad thoughts go by.

Medication can help, but I believe it can be dangerous for people your age. Talk to someone about it, even your family doctor might be able to help. Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.

The advice of others who have replied to you is good too. Sunlight and exercise can help your body naturally fight depression.

If you feel your depression is really bad, or if it interferes with you doing things you like to do or keeps you from wanting to do them, then definitely talk to your doctor about it.
go for a long walk on the hills and pray its hard work and clears my head

I write. I talk about it with people I trust deeply. I surround myself with people who can make me laugh without fail.

It's rough, but I find different ways to cope with it.
