It's a lifestyle, an appreciation for everything Gothic in nature. What you wear doesn't change your lifestyle.

I love gothic music, when I do put on makeup, it's gothic style, my wall decorations are 95% gothic art(classical reproductions and modern), and if I had any control over my bedroom furniture, it'd be gothic revival on top of self-identifying as gothic. Why is it for some people, that's not enough to be gothic?

Guess it's just the frequency, and ammount of people from, I hear it that bugs me. Mostly just curious, with a twinge of annoyance.

Whoever is saying this to you sounds very shallow and immature! If I were you I'd take no notice of them

It's supposed to be a lifestyle, it's become little more than a fashion choice to most people.
