I Don't Fear Death

As my children started to be aware of the concept of death.. I would say shortly after their Great grandmother died they started to ask questions. I told them exactly how I felt about death and that there is nothing to be afraid of. I asked them if they remember spending 9 months inside of me? To which they answered "No". So I told them do you believe that you were alive and a person inside of me. They said yes. So that just stands to reason that floating around all serene and peaceful they couldn't imagine any other world then this. This is what it meant to live and how life was... forever. Then 9 months later you were brought into this world. Your serene, floaty world no longer existed. Now you're here and you can't imagine life past this world. But one day this world too will pass and we move onto the next. Whatever that may be. We don't know. But we didn't know then either.
They are grown now and look at death like I do. Not something to be feared... just another stage of existence.
Beautiful. Thank you for explaining it that way to your kids.
