I Have Been ' Blocked '

I'm normally indifferent about being blocked but the amount of times I've been blocked today just for my input on the outcome of the election... Come on, people. That is so petty! Some of the users that have blocked me I thought were pretty cool too so that's a little disappointing... I guess this election is bringing out everyone's true colors.

An American friend of mine said she was disappointed that the coverage seemed to be treating the result in the same way as a sports victory. That seems entirely the wrong way of looking at it because it separates the country into two teams of opponents, rather than one country trying to work together to progress (regardless of the result).

Also, blocking you for holding an opposing opinion seems like a way of never getting perspective. If people were strong in their convictions, they'd talk to you about it, not put their fingers in their ears and shout la la la so they can't hear your words any more.

Exactly! That just shows how small-minded they really are.

I'm going to be honest here...I never supported either one of them, I never will.

BUT, it was a vote, the vote was cast the results came in.

The aftermath makes me lose faith in the Democratic system, it's disgusting how the Democratic party (Of all people) reacted.

Oh and before you say "We only protest because evil won" I have another quote "Evil wins when good men do nothing"

I rest my case, if you disagree feel fukkin free to block me, I don't care people.

Those last two sentences aren't directed at me, right?

@Carver: No just a general statement, most of it was just to everyone, but I didn't feel like making a post on my profile, you're good Carver ;)

regardless what anyone thinks of him, that's got to be one of the most incredible political stories ever. He might have benefitted from the EC process, but the man won fair and square...and against both parties and all odds

Yes - at these times you see a person's true colours. Words like tolerance and acceptance need to come to the fore..

Tell me what I'm thinking right now or I'm going to block you.
Carver · 31-35, F
Lol!

You're right!! I wasn't thinking. Just lol'ing.
Nomad84 · 61-69, M
Don't let it bother you. I have been blocked so many times it is almost automatic.
Nomad84 · 61-69, M
On Twitter I get so much abuse I am using an industrial strength Tweeter Blocker !
BentNeverBroken · 41-45, F
You mean you're not allowed to have your own opinion on here? 🙄
Carver · 31-35, F
Apparently not. But oh well, if that's how narrow-minded they are then I don't want anything to do with them anyway.
BentNeverBroken · 41-45, F
@Carver: that's my theory as well. In the end, it's their loss not mine. 😊

Eh, I'm more disappointed at how petty some of these users are than I am about actually being blocked.
Yep, and I am cool with that.
I heard this from a few people. I'm sorry that this has happened.

Debates and free speech should be encouraged, not personalised

Thank you, well said.
