I Have Something to Say
For a year, I waited. I let the hints drop by; I watched, I observed.. I did my best to care for you, as a friend, and for a year, you and I continually hinted to wanting something more..
You.. cuffed me to this University. Before I met you, I had plans - plans to scale the mountain, and aim higher - to leave this wretched place and gain entrance to the Heavens. But you, with all of these hints, chained me to this place, unable to leave, unable to forsake you.
But then, the time came - unexpected - and the opportunity to become more arose. And then you, trying to sweeten the bitter taste as best you can, turned into something less.
But that's okay.. I can't grieve about it; I know you still care enough to worry about my mental health.. but you've broken these shackles. I feel free to soar again.. and if my wings will let me, and the wind is generous, I will fly far, far away from you.
I will never expect anything more from you; you will never hurt me or mislead me again.. and I will never be there to say anything to hurt you ever again.
