It depends upon the nature of the tattoos and the culture of the company, and your work setting. If you work in a corporate environment, in an office, it's best to have art that's covered in regular business attire. Visible tattoos may not reflect the image that the company wishes to project, and can be problematic for some clients/customers, hence why image can be an important factor with respect to appearances on the job.

totally depends where you work. i work at a college and have tattooed hands but can look smart in a suit. depends how good you are at your job

It depends on the job. Most corporate and professional settings won't want obvious tats.
