Why are people so obsessed with skin?

I prefer the invisible parts.
SW-User
As long as I got skin idc what it looks like, it could be yellow, brown, white, green rainbow, any shade of colors or transparent.. it's all the same.. underneath the skin is what matters

Right. Color, shape, size, none of that shit really matters

@Clouds: Exactly, who one is, kindness, personality, heart, now THATs WhT matters at least to me
Because it's visible. It is very first thing you see and the very first thing you pass judgement on. The invisible parts, well they're just harder to "see" and gain understanding of. They're not anywhere near as acessible to our way of thinking. Where skin is concrete, the invisible parts are open to interpretation.
We keep the invisible parts hidden, save for a special few. They are our greatest strengths in the right hands, and our biggest vulnerability and weakness in the wrong ones. We can be both.
People care about skin because it is what they (we) show. We judge and are judged. It is a literal and metaphorical protective shield and barrier to the world outside our mind and soul.

cuz most people take the invisible parts second

@Datdudeblack: @Clouds: sometimes I hate the society we evolve in, it's like all that matters is to be the prettiest, the shiniest, that skin shade matters.... When, When are they going to teach that kindness is important, as well as a good personality, that acceptance is primordial, that judgement and discrimination is WRONG. I wish that every kid could grow up not being afraid to be for who they are regardless of nationality, skin tone, beliefs, any kind of handicap, but to be happy growing in a world of acceptance, were ppl can communicate instead of throwing rocks and bully each other, a world were ppl come together and help each other, where we still appreciate our neighbors.

Skin is skin we all have some, from various beautiful shades and it's beautiful but underneath the skin is were it matters the most and the real beauty emerges.

@Chantou: I feel if you raise your kids with a good foundation of morals they can make the right decisions on how to treat and see people for who they are as a person. Growing up i saw people. I dont care where youre from, what you look like, what disability you have, youre skin color or your wealth. the only thing i gauge is how you act and want others to see you.

@Datdudeblack: well that's me and how raised my Kids... all that doesn't matters, who one is inside is what really matters,..although sadly many don't believe in that

Males are typically much more visual and physical than women are. Women are typically more mental and emotional.

So, women who know what men want, give men what they want to be seen as desirable: to varying degrees. Likewise, men who know what women want, give women what they want, to be seen as desireable.

Speaking generally.
