I have insomnia. Do you get it too? What helps you sleep?

I've had insomnia most of my life, especially my adult life. Some of it, as crazy as it might sound, is a result of electromagnetic energy. If you stop looking at your computer screen or television and don't use your cell phone for a couple of hours before bed time, and keep electronics at least several feet from your bed, there's a better chance you'll sleep. Also, don't eat anything for a couple of hours before bedtime, and be sure to not drink alcohol. You'll fall asleep faster, but wake up a few hours later. Don't eat or drink anything with caffeine in it. Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, contains caffeine and theobromine, which are natural stimulants.

There are some products on the market which promote relaxation. One is called, "Calm." You can find it here:

Another is "Natural Stress Relief":

Meditation is helpful, especially if you can get into a routine of it. Going to bed with a feeling of calmness and equanimity is good. Carrying anger to bed with you, is not. Hypnotism has been proven effective.

There are more resources online. I hope I've given you something that can help.

I used to have really bad insomnia problems, but regular exercise and a high protein diet really make a world of difference for me.

Nothing yet. Changed my diet, started exercising more to wear me out, changed my routine and even took to not looking at my phone or a television screen for a while before I go to bed. My brain doesn't stop till it gets to the point that I pass out.

Trying to stay awake long enough to count backwards from 1000. Not just awake, but focused only on the numbers and eyes on one spot on the wall.

Thank ya. Hopefully you can find something that works for you. A friend of mine uses nature and ocean sounds to combat it. Sadly it didn't work for me.

I haven't personally tried this, but I hear it's quite effective. Boil bananas and drink the juice before you sleep.
