Will you ever reconnect with friends you lost as a result of different opinions?

AbbeyRhode · F
I have never dropped a friend because of a difference of opinion, but I have had friends turn their backs to me. The fact that they did so makes me think they wouldn't want to reconnect, preferring instead to hold a grudge.

i can be friends with people who have different opinions.
but if they unfriend me because they don't like the way i see the world, i'd be fine with that too. who needs people like that in their life?
Fishy · F
If they don't act all pouty and throw around accusations when someone has different opinions, then sure.

If my friends can't handle the fact that I think safe spaces are stupid or Brexit was a good thing and can't be my friend because of it then both of us have wasted our time if we fall out over argument.

I never lost a friend for having different opinions or even different faith.
Niburu · 51-55, M
same here

@Niburu: Its stupid thing to do.

I've never lost a real friend because of differing opinions.
AbbeyRhode · F
Good point, someone who does that is not a true friend.
katielass · F
fortunately I've exercised better judgment than to choose friends who are incapable of respecting my opinion as I respect theirs. Unlike most lefties I actually prefer to have people around me who think differently and the leftie friends I have chosen as friends feel the same. That's why they're my friend.

All of my friends have different opinions on stuff, I only ended one friendship over a difference of opinion and that was because he became a Jehovah's and started saying all gay people should burn in hell, I have my limits
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
why would I?
SW-User
Because, breaking a friendship as a result opposite opinions is silly to do.
