Should Trump just give them what they want and launch a first strike on Russia?

👏 Preach it.

Nah, let the dems fight that one in their heads.
Problem is, dems are headless.

@puck61: Puck, they have heads, they're just empty. lmfao

Considering the Russians would kick the shit out of the Americans, no. Don't pick fights with people who can beat you senseless.
@BlueMetalChick: The US Army's digital camouflage pattern that most people incorrectly call ACU is a great example of the war industry. It is probably the most useless camouflage pattern in US history and yet somebody made a fortune on it and will make another fortune switching everything over to multicam.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow: That's an exceptional example, and I'm willing to bet it was an intentional farce.
@BlueMetalChick: Not sure but it was revealed that of the various versions of it that were tested they actually chose the one with the worst performance results. But if you think about everything the army issues to soldiers in that pattern it gives you an idea of the money involved. What bothers me about it too is that pattern also happens to be a complete fuck up of an attempt to customize what was basically a Canadian invention. To their credit the USMC actually managed to get it right.

That doesn't seem very wise.

I don't think a strike, on Russia, is necessary.

HOWEVER Trump could agree with the US intelligence report that “Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election,” with the specific goal of harming Hillary Clinton’s “electability and potential presidency” - that would help him get the intelligence agencies off his back and the backs of his administration.

@beckychandler: mmm, hmm. The intelligence agency has been a known faltered operation since the Project MKUltra was first brought to public attention in 1975 by the Church Committee of the U.S. Congress. Everyone knows this. My question is -- Is Donald Trump smart enough to play the game - to get what he wants? His temper tantrums and attention seeking rallies does not show me he is a good business person. *shrug*

@beckychandler: I agree with you about the CIA. Trump's many flaws should not distract progressives from pointing out the cynicism of other aspects of the establishment. Glenn Greenwald is very good on this.

@beckychandler: I would also add - If Donald Trump would like the intelligence agency and the media off his back all he would have to do is: release his taxes (which would show his business dealings) and de-classify the Russian intercepts. Super simple.

No. There are others who want to see America fall.. even if it means the destruction of themselves. Misery loves company and Trump is wise not to take the bait.

Only if you want civilization to come crashing down with millions of people potentially more than a billion people being killed as a result.
You realize I am not really advocating this?
Actually first strike is the US policy since Bush the junior. And nobody wants that. But a few people in Washington are mentally ill enough to believe you can win a nuclear war.

Nobody wants that but I am worried that Trump could turn strong against Russia to protect himself.
That is not what I was getting at but other smart people I said something like this to, had a similar reaction. But it is time for people to come to their senses, whether they like the guy or not -- he is not crazy and he is not stupid.

@beckychandler: Not sure what you are getting at but I agree about crazy but not stupid.

I both disagree with the traditional Us neoconservative approach, which includes Clinton and I also disagree with Putins right wing nationalism. It is legitimate (and inevitable) to challenge Trump and investigate if the email hack was done by Russia but we need to see the proof.

I think it is better for global peace if America and Russia get on and I don't want this to lead to hostilities.
