Should Trump just give them what they want and launch a first strike on Russia?

I don't think a strike, on Russia, is necessary.

HOWEVER Trump could agree with the US intelligence report that “Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election,” with the specific goal of harming Hillary Clinton’s “electability and potential presidency” - that would help him get the intelligence agencies off his back and the backs of his administration.
Trump is the first president to challenge the intelligence "community" since Kennedy. Kennedy was shot --so far they are just trying to kill Trump through leaks. As long as I can remember the left has doubted and questioned the intelligence "community" (and often quite rightly so --fake WMD's in Iraq) but this time they could not be more supportive.

@beckychandler: mmm, hmm. The intelligence agency has been a known faltered operation since the Project MKUltra was first brought to public attention in 1975 by the Church Committee of the U.S. Congress. Everyone knows this. My question is -- Is Donald Trump smart enough to play the game - to get what he wants? His temper tantrums and attention seeking rallies does not show me he is a good business person. *shrug*

@beckychandler: I agree with you about the CIA. Trump's many flaws should not distract progressives from pointing out the cynicism of other aspects of the establishment. Glenn Greenwald is very good on this.

@beckychandler: I would also add - If Donald Trump would like the intelligence agency and the media off his back all he would have to do is: release his taxes (which would show his business dealings) and de-classify the Russian intercepts. Super simple.
