I was wondering what icon was next on death's list. I had no thought about it being the great Debbie Reynolds. So who is next? there are two days left. Who will it be?

Well, some it's no surprise really.
Ali made it to 74. Despite his illness.
And considering he'd had a life being battered by guys in the ring or oppressive haters outside it, I figure he did pretty well !

Sir George Martin outlived two of the Beatles he produced. 90.
I suppose it's the crop who went in their 50's or 60's that's got us scratching our heads.

Take your pick. Shirley McLaine, Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, and dozens of other stars are getting up there in age. It's just the way of the times. A very large list of celebrities has been approaching that final curtain for a while now. I don't think it's the year that has anything to do with it. It is just that the whole popularity thing gets dominated by certain year brackets.

@bunny61: A Canadian radio comedian and music critic called Buckley has a series in which he picks the ten worst songs of every year in review, which he's been doing since 2010. Taylor Swift has appeared on the list four times. He's made reference to multiple others, which is how I know some of them.

@bunny61: As I said it depends on who you call a celebrity - for example I've never heard of Florence Henderson or Garry Shandling but then I guess you've never heard of Mo Wandan or Fei Fei Sun both of whom are classed as celebrities in their homeland. Oh and no I'm not high
@Dlrannie: the difference is, i looked up both of yours and all you had to do is look up mine. Florence henderson was a big tv star in the 60's, 70's and 80's. she has done stage work and became iconic from a show called the Brady Bunch. Shandling was a famous stand up comic who went on to star in movies and tv shows and was in the Marvel movie world. he even had a show called The Gary Shandling show". And he was the cause for the funniest Bill Maher ep i have ever seen. i would never say that people you mentioned were not celebrities...because that is rude.

@bunny61: with one exception all the people you mentioned were America and they may well be celebrities in that context - all I was trying to point out to you was that celebrities exist in countries other than the one you appear to live in. Incidently I didn't say the people you mentioned weren't celebrities merely that I had never heard of two of them. Happy new year to you 🙂
