French rugby that I know from my childhood

In the 1970s, the French national rugby union team achieved significant success, winning the Grand Slam in 1977 and securing second place in the Five Nations Championship in 1971 and 1976, coached by Jean Desclaux and captained by Jacques Fouroux. Key moments included a historic first-ever victory over New Zealand in New Zealand in 1979 and a memorable 37-12 win against England in 1972.

The French national rugby union team achieved again great success in the 1980s, winning two Grand Slams in the Five Nations Championship (1981 and 1987), reaching the final of the inaugural 1987 Rugby World Cup, and sharing the championship in 1988 and 1989. Key players in this era included Serge Blanco, Philippe Sella, and captain Jean-Pierre Rives.
