Ya think?
"What context? I'm an evils American- I need you to define booing...

Kwek00 · 41-45, M
I think most people were cheering for the team... untill JD Vance got screen time.

Honestly, JD gave the middle finger to the rest of the western world, I think it's okay not to debase oneself by taking it silently and return his gesture in kind.

As a long time Philadelphia Eagles fan I can say we love when the other teams fans boo. Usually just before the game starts and they start to cry!

@GerOttman Eagles fans bring fandom to a new level!

@fun4us2b They don't call us the Boo Birds for nothing!
The team was not booed, Vance was. And thats completely understandable.

You can’t make a career out of insulting Europe and then expect them to smile at you for it.

@fun4us2b They're like battleships showing the flag....but I doubt they'll get far with their masked ,badge-less presence in Milano

@fun4us2b Don't quote me but I have had a bad feeling about this Olympics but not necessarily ICE..hope I'm totally wrong
Yes, it was appropriate. Our country is led by a monster right now, and a majority put him in that position, either by voting for him outright—or neglecting to vote to keep him out. So, to the world Trump and his government represent our country, and even those of us who did vote against them are paying the price.

Was the team booed or was Vance's image put up on large screens at the venue and people booed him?
Adogslife · 61-69, M
Trump gives the world the middle finger. The athletes would be naive to think their treatment would be normal.

Vance is nothing more than Trump’s fluffer.

@Adogslife It seems the athletes were pre-warned - I feel badly for them.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@fun4us2b I agree with you. To reach that level and get that reaction has to be tough.

The good thing is I’m sure the athletes are more apt to be friendly with each other.

For better or for worse, the US team represents America. And right now, America is led by the worst of the worst.
