They are letting men box women at the Olympics

These people have no sense nor shame.

absolute joke. dont know how anyone can actually support this. well except for women beaters of course, im sure they will get off on it
@Torsten Except the boxer in question was born female and comes from a country where gender care is illegal.

You should move to Algeria, sounds like it's right up your alley.

@Torsten The only evidence that she has XY is a report by a Russian org that ONLY came out after she beat a Russian boxer. This org also isn't considered reputable by the IOC.

She does have elevated testosterone, but so do most female athletes. Olympic athletes are freaks. Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps have genetic advantages that average people don't have.
@Torsten Did you examine her, doctor? Or you're just repeating discredited Russian propaganda?

She did "fight against that decision" or she wouldn't be competing today, dummy.

It's hilarious how you people went from "gender is how you were born" to "well, she looks like a man to me."

@LeopoldBloom did you examine him or are you just repeating discredited leftists propaganda?
@Torsten The IOC did, they said she's a female. She's also from a country where transitioning is illegal.

Neither of us examined this person ourselves, but the IOC did. So why should we not consider her female?
Torsten · 36-40, M
@BohemianBabe his history says otherwise
@Torsten How so?
Torsten · 36-40, M
@BohemianBabe disqualified from world championships after a failed gender test in 2023 and he didnt even appeal it.
Now if that was wrong, who would not appeal such a decision? anyone would appeal that but nope, not this guy.
XY chromosomes and high testosterone. I believe men also do not touch women unless related there yet photos oh him on a guys shoulders celebrating. Thats a small thing but more and more keeps coming out that helps prove this person is not a female.
@Torsten

Because the org in question isn't considered reputable by anyone, plus she already passed the gender test. The org only flipped when she beat a Russian because it's owned by a corrupt guy with ties to the government of Russia.

If this is what you mean by "more and more keeps coming out," then there ain't much.

@BohemianBabe yet its more than what you got
@Torsten She's from a country where it's illegal to transition, so if she's competing as a female, she was definitely assigned female at birth. If she transitioned illegally, the government of Algeria wouldn't proudly send her to the Olympics, they'd see her transition as a failure on their part.
The IOC testing allowed her to compete against the women, which means that even if she has elevated testosterone, it's not enough to say she's not female.
As for the chromosomes, the only org claiming she has XY, originally said she has XX. They only flipped for political reasons, so they should be discounted.

@BohemianBabe Can you give the name of the Russian boxer that Khelif beat please, when was this fight as I've not been able to find anything about it.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@BohemianBabe The IOC have not performed their own testing. Thomas Bach, IOC president -

"The IOC put out a statement Aug. 1 clarifying that all boxers competing in the women’s events "comply with the competition’s eligibility and entry regulations, as well as all applicable medical regulations set by the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit (PBU).

"As with previous Olympic boxing competitions, the gender and age of the athletes are based on their passport," the statement added."

Yes, but they also test to make sure the athletes aren't taking illegal drugs or have levels of testosterone so high that they have too much of an advantage.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@BohemianBabe Sport isn't segregated by testosterone levels, it's segregated by sex. A man with low testosterone is still a man, it doesn't permit him entry to a woman's event.
@helsbels Sex is defined by hormone levels. Trans women that have been on HRT long enough will have more estrogen than testosterone.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@BohemianBabe A man could take all the drugs and lower his testosterone to whatever level, he is still going to have the height and reach advantage conferred by male puberty, essential in a sport like boxing. How can you say 'too much of an advantage' in all seriousness? Any advantage is too much. If a man takes enough drugs to lower his testosterone so he only just wins a race, how is that any better than if he finishes 30 seconds ahead?
@helsbels

Actually, HRT makes males shorter and smaller. It basically breaks and shrinks the bones and muscle.

How can you say 'too much of an advantage' in all seriousness?

Because everyone in the Olympics has an unfair advantage against average people. It's a genetic freak show. Michael Phelps trains hard, but he also just has a body type that gives him an extreme advantage.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@BohemianBabe They are not up against average people, they are up against other Oympians.

You're advocating for performance limiting drugs to allow men to compete against women? Why can women not just have their own protected category? This is insane.

Do you not have that name, that supports your claim that this was revenge on the part of Russia for their fighter losing against Khelif? Which Russian did the Taiwanese fighter beat to suffer the same treatment?
helsbels · 31-35, F
@BohemianBabe Ok, I've given more than enough time to this today. You are clearly not going to budge an inch and I doubt anyone else is even reading this anymore. You may be a lost cause but I'm satisfied that anyone else who sees it may find it useful and can make their own mind up, and I've said everything I want to say on the matter so I'm done 👋
@helsbels

Yes, my point is that everyone involved has a genetic advantage. The point of the IOC is to make sure the advantage isn't too much. Sports aren't fair, but the IOC tries to keep them fair enough.

If a male is on HRT long enough, he's a genetic female. So if someone identifies as a woman, and they are genetically female, what exactly is the problem?
