It is so depressing. In all this time we have gone from ‘whites only’ to ‘blacks only.’

It does naively make much more sense to me that it should be ‘only the best.’

When you consider it objectively, they are doing what we did. And yes, it’s terrible.

@Mamapolo2016 I'm a Liberty fan, so I get to root for quite a few non-black players: Johannes, Astier, Stewart, Allen, Fiebich, Ionescu, Han. No racial problems for any of them that I've ever heard of.

I watch the WNBA but don't really follow the Fever so I haven't seen her play much, so I'm not sure just how much of the story is real and how much is internet hype. Not sure how "racist" the reaction to her is, since many "white" players are very popular around the league. Maybe she is resented because of the overblown coverage of her coming into the league? She's good, but is she so far above all the other players, does she live up to her press/expectations?

@1490wayb That may be why she's resented -- the main "male" record I've heard of her breaking is Maravich's college points total points record, the problem with all the hype being Maravich set his record playing in only 83 games and without a 3-point line, while it took Clark 130 games with the 3-point line to pass him. BUT the media hyped her as if she's ripped past him and blown his record away. Not to mention the fact that women play with a smaller ball and a shorter 3-point line.
