Not really, no. There's 30 NHL teams. 16 of them go to the playoffs every year. Woo hoo, congratulations on not being utter failures for a period of time.

@BlueMetalChick: i can't tell you that, but at least 2 in the 90's i think? 3 that weren't far apart? I'm struggling to remember; they are a first class organization, my team is their greatest rivalry, so I'm with you, but gotta give credit where is due, otherwise it's meaningless

@silkandlace: Yeah there were a couple in the 90's. But the majority of Detroit championships were when there were only 6 teams, and more when they were only 11. They deserve zero respect, no consideration, and no credit. And not just the hockey team either. The entire fucking city of Detroit is a disgusting squalid filthy undeserving hive inhabited by the lowest forms of human life in existence.

@BlueMetalChick: well now, that's a very dim outlook; they were premiere during that run i was talking about; i give them the credit they deserve, as it speaks to the credibility of the teams that beat them as well; many, many good teams there, but yes, i like seeing them fail!

@senpie: Not really. They had a team full of geriatric Mongoloids that managed to not completely suck for a good stretch of time. Making the playoffs does not mean a team is good. More than half of the entire league goes to the playoffs each year. And, if the other teams in your division suck, you have no competition and you can go to the playoffs even if you're lousy.

@BlueMetalChick: ok, granted a 50% chance of making the playoffs in any given year, that's still 25 straight years. what are the chances of flipping heads 25 straight times?
