Hate To Say I Told You So

[media=https://youtu.be/Uz1Jwyxd4tE?feature=shared]

How odd, Imane Khelif has withdrawn from a boxing competition immediately after it announced that all competitors must have mandatory sex testing (administered via a cheek swab), to check eligibility in to their category 🤔

You'd think this boxer would welcome the chance to prove to the world 'she' is not a man.

Let us know when there is actual evidence, and not just bias and suspicion. 🤷‍♂

Once there is evidence, and you are right... then there will be nothing to be proud about, because the only thing you did was take a hypothesis for truth because of bias. And if you are wrong, then everyone in your camp has slandered a human being on the basis of that bias . So yeah... there is no good side for you here.🤷‍♂
helsbels · 31-35, F
@Kwek00 There will never be evidence enough to satisfy you. The boxer failed sex tests in the past. You claimed conspiracy, falsification, denied the authority and accuracy of the tests, etc etc. Khelif has the chance to vindicate the claims 'she' is making, but... has withdrawn from competing rather than adhere to the requirements of taking a cheek swab test. The same test ANY participant has to take, so not being singled out for this.

You still give NO thought to the women who have lost out and been put in danger as a result.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@Kwek00 'There is no good side for you here'.
So if/when proved right, the fact that women have single sex sport returned to them, fair competition, aren't facing a boxer with male advantages in strength and power, isn't a good thing?
SW-User
@Kwek00 Yeah, the only "evidence" is that Khelif has apparently "skipped" the next competition now that the rules have changed. However, this info is only on the Daily Express, Daily Mail, and GB News. Far right rags in other words, that of course have glowing reputations for being fair, balanced and honest.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@SW-User Fine, come back in a week or so or whatever, after the event.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@SW-User "The Algerian boxer, who won gold at the Paris Games last summer amid scrutiny over her eligibility, did not register in time for the event before applications closed on Thursday.

“The decision of Imane’s exclusion is not ours. We regret it,” tournament media director Dirk Renders told The Associated Press".

lost out and been put in danger
OMG 🤣 Has Khelif, Yu-ting, or any other "male" boxer beaten another female opponent so badly that they were grievously injured, or killed?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@helsbels No... there literally is nothing in your AP-article either. That IBA test has been questioned from the very beginning. People like yourself are the only ones taking that one for truth, because of the bias you are struggling with.

Did she give any statements why she withdrew? Maybe she is just pissed being singled out during the communication, that's a hypothesis too. I'm just waiting on how it unfolds. Giving people the benefit of the doubt when there is no clear evidence, is a better road to take. I wonder how you would feel when people are constantly putting questionsmarks with your identity. Questionmarks that are put in a pretty bigoted way on the internet by a bunch of people that take hypothesis for granted.

Oh no... women that choose to go into boxing ring and are being put out in danger because of it. Man, if you are wrong, I'll ask you about all those guys Muhammed Ali and George Foreman beat up during their years, because they were better athletes and probably had a genetic advantage over their competitors. These people that walked away with broken noses and black eyes, never complained about being put in danger when fighting a better opponent. Cry me a river.

No... there is no good side here. No matter what the outcome of this debacle is. You are taking a suspicion for truth, exactly because you side with bigots that all have the same mentality. Comming to the correct assement by irrational reasoning might work out once in a while, at the end of the day, it's still irrational.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@SW-User So that's the line for you? Short of being killed, anything goes?

Look up Angela Carini's comments after facing Khelif. She withdrew after 46 seconds in fear for her safety.
SW-User
@Kwek00 You're absolutely right. How many men have grievously harmed or accidentally killed their opponents in the ring over the years? Was it because their opponents were female? Horrible tragedies can happen. Men are not THAT much stronger, especially as their opponents should be ostensibly in the same weight category.
SW-User
@helsbels Yes, and why did she withdraw? Because she knew all about the controversy surrounding Khelif, and she had made up her mind that Khelif was a man before they even started, despite the lack of evidence.

She let the controversy get to her, Khelif got into her head, she completely lost her poise and gave up. She was not professional. They were in the same weight category.

I have no sympathy at all.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SW-User That could be the reason why she withdrew. For as far as I can find, she hasn't made any official statement yet. I wouldn't touch this toppic with a long stick, except for telling people that you should be on the fence for this one.

I do think, that after all that was said and read, that there is very little evidence to believe what helsbels side is putting out there. She's been reaping in victories since she was 19 years old and the Algerian boxing department never made any announcements on her biological sex.

If she has an XY chromosome combination, and a vagina... a segment of british women are going to loose their shit about their bathroom controversies. That's actually going to show how dumb this all is, when you can't even visually determine what a biological woman is. That means that for people to use the womens bathroom, you now all have to have a chromosome test to satisfy the most bigoted elements in their society. What a joke that would be.
SW-User
@Kwek00 100% agree. This is all to do with men controlling women at the end of the day.

By the way, talking of jokes, you know Caster Semenya and the controversy surrounding her? Take her name and make an anagram, you get - YES A SECRET MAN🤯

@SW-User And I'll say it again. Why is the line 'rape and assault'? I know plenty of men I wouldn't feel threatened by if they were in the female toilets. That's not to say other women would feel the same. Men carry a perceived threat, whatever their intentions. I fully expect you to mock, or not understand this. All these concessions you are happy to make are at the expense of women (and yes, there are women who would agree with your view, but you, and they, can't consent on behalf of ALL women).

Also, hate the attitude of 'well, it would happen anyway, so why try and reduce the risk?' If you let trans-identified men in, you let ALL men in.

Utterly false. I competed in D1 wrestling. I’ve fought in full contact black belt karate tournaments. I’m fighting in late June in Kali. It’s not about just weight. Mix sexes at the highest levels and the women, despite incredible skill, would be beaten and tossed about like a rag dolls. The physical differences are huge. Nobody wants that.

If you want equality, you’d need trans sports.

Nobody wants to circumvent Title IX either. It’s designed to give women equal opportunity (like scholarships). So you suggest these designated scholarships should also go to “men”?

Ever watch a WNBA game? Awesome, awesome women with incredible basketball skills. But, how would they fair against their NBA counterparts?

They’d put up a fight, but they’d get dominated. Again, the men’s game it just too physical and much of the game is above the rim. Women can’t compete with that genetically/biologically.

Wanting “better” for trans gender can’t be deemed “fair” when it hurts those who the sport was designed for in the first place.

Two wrongs…

@Adogslife Thank you for such a sensible, considered and fair reply! (Are you sure SW is the right place for you?) 🤣
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@helsbels Ty. I do understand the importance of his minority opinion, but I’ve also raised two daughters. They deserve equality, as much as is reasonably possible. Society starts to fall apart when the tail wags the dog.

Sometimes, women need the opportunity to excel and be free in a world where there are no men. They need to experience being the best they can be. That foundation is important in life.

Separate but equal…

Men carry a perceived threat, whatever their intentions.

That's exactly what far-right politicians say about immigrants that don't share their white skin tone. 🤷‍♂
An entire segment of the population, needs to deal with the bias of a bunch of bigots that weaponise it to go against a minority. But I guess this isn't bigotry... even though it's a classbook example.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Kwek00 men are perceived as threats due to their toxic masculinity. That isn’t a right wing talking point at all.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@AthrillatheHunt I'm talking about bigotry, bigotry isn't confined to the right wing. The only person that brought in "right wing", is you Ahtrilla. Thanks for contributing nothing to this conversation, time to go back and sit on your fence.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Kwek00 You said far right politicians . I wouldn’t have mentioned far right if you didn’t . And sitting on a fence gives one a good view of both sides of the fence.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@AthrillatheHunt Before you answer... read the conversation again, and then tell me where I talked about the far-right in this conversation?
