Girls can catch

We were walking in the park with our daughter yesterday afternoon when we came across a group of boys from her school year playing softball cricket. When they saw her they immediately asked her to join the game to make up numbers . . btw, that by itself makes me extremely envious given the many hours I used to spend loitering on the edge of boys' matches hoping to be given a game 🥺

Daughter sighs, slips off her sandals, hands me her cardigan, and steps onto the field of play looking very striking in her yellow sun dress 🙂 Ten minutes later she takes a spectacular catch from a high ball going over her head. Nonchalantly throws the ball back to the middle as though it were nothing special, does a round of high fives with her adoring team mates, then rejoins us and we continue our walk.

What a legend! And later this week she will be back in school showing everyone that girls can not only catch, but they can run, jump, throw, swim, tumble as well 🤗

How old is she now?

Ive been away and catching up with everyone...

And excellent on stepping up and proving herself like that
My daughter plays basketball with the guys at the park and skateboards much better than some guys doing moves & tricks that have shame them a bit , but ultimately build her self confidence

@Valerian Welcome back!

She's just turned 14.

That's great to hear. Sport can be a great confidence booster and mark of achievement for girls and young women.
