@graphite fun stat...the canucks have only won 3 games in a row all season...and in each of those they played the sharks 3 times in each of those 3rd games

@beermeplease No, NHL will want him in a big US market. Canada already has the other Connor. Canucks aren't quite lousy enough to have much of a shot at him.

@beermeplease No way, right? 🤣 In 2005, right when the NHL badly needed a new arena in Pittsburgh and no arena plan was coming together, Sidney Crosby ends up in.... Pittsburgh. Nothing to see here, folks!

@beermeplease The 2 biggest draft picks in the past 40 years both ended up in Pittsburgh - unless you count Lindros, who was destined for small-market, French-speaking Quebec City but refused to play there. Mario was amazing - he had cancer and still was racking up multi-point games against the expansion Sharks. Probably the best player I've ever seen.

@graphite that would be sweet if he landed here in vancouver. and yeah, mario was amazing. i had the pleasure of seeing him live a few times. had he not had his illnesses/injuries they wouldn't be talking about ovechkin chasing gretzky's record....but mario's. most exciting player to suit up for the canucks was pavel bure. for 3 years we had pavel/mogilny/messier and never once made the playoffs....lol

@beermeplease Vancouver would have to start the bidding with Petersson, Hughes, their #1 pick and who knows what else would be demanded? Is he worth gutting the Canucks? It's unlikely they're going to get him in the draft lottery.
