Is it OK to play Pickleball barefoot?

A variation of Tennis called Pickleball is becoming the latest "in"sport, although Ive never played it as yet.I know a person who has a regulation court and shes invited me to play with her.The only sport shoes I have are a pair of high-top tennis shoes which the person advised against wearing because she says they tend to be too bulky and cumbersome for the game;she also says they might leave scuff marks on the court. This person has told me that they do make regulation "pickleball"shoes, but frankly I have no intention of buying something for a sport Ive never tried before.Ive explained all of this to her,and she insists that I can simply go in bare feet on the court;that theres not any danger or harm from doing so.Is she right?

I wouldn't play barefoot myself, simply because I don't ever go barefoot, and my soles are baby soft.
My boyfriend certainly would, though, as he's always does everything barefoot anyway.
I'd say go for it, and play barefoot, if you're at all accustomed to going barefoot. 👣

Oh course! I’m barefoot 247 and I play a lot of sports barefoot and I play WAY better in my bare feet than I do in sneakers (or cleats) and socks

I don’t even own a single pair of shoes or socks

No, your feet will hurt after.

@SW-User What if we played on soft grass?
