What do you think is the ugliest rivalry in sports?

@SW-User We get a lot of that in hockey down here but not so much in other sports.

@SW-User South American soccer gets worse in that respect. Boca Juniors v River Plate in Argentina always needs heavily armed police on standby. I think two years ago they played the final without fans because the risk of violence was too much.

@SW-User some of the Turkish teams have fans that are insane. People take that shit way too seriously.

@somedude15 I was down there working on the night of a Blackhawks vs. Blues playoff game and there were lots of fans of both teams. Every time one team scored, everyone would start fistfighting. It was an ugly game and the Blackhawks won in overtime on a greasy goal that maybe shouldn't have counted. The tension broke and everyone spilled out into the street fighting. The bouncer called the police, who showed up and circled the whole crowd. They pulled out these gigantic cans of pepper spray the size of a fire extinguisher and sprayed the people. But their dumb fucking asses were standing in a circle, so they also pepper sprayed the officers across from them. The result was like 120 people and officers all coughing and spitting and running around half blind in the middle of a downtown street.

Why did I work there...

@SW-User Hell yeah. And it's interesting because soccer itself isn't rough, not like rugby and rugby league where the players go toe to toe all the time lol
